He chalked up impressive results including the NHRA Winternationals finals, where he was edged by .02s by Frank Sanders in another Z11 Impala, and 5th for the season in the Drag News Top 10 Stock challenge. This car is meticulously restored as-raced in its original Ember Red and retains all its original body panels including all 20 of the Z11-exclusive aluminum pieces incl. hood, fenders, bumpers. The engine is an original, ex-Larry Moody QM block rebuilt to factory spec and including the 2-piece aluminum manifold, twin 525cfm AFB Carters, 13.5:1 heads, special crank, cam, cowl-induction air cleaner, etc., and even has 1963 Hooker headers.
